Instrumental Music Program
Montmorency Secondary College has a proud history of providing quality music education. Learning an instrument and being part of school bands and ensembles can be an enriching and rewarding experience for students. It not only provides them with the opportunity to develop musical skills but also fosters teamwork, discipline, and creativity.
Students who participate in the Montmorency Secondary College bands and ensembles develop a sense of community and belonging as they work together towards the common goal of creating enjoyable and entertaining music. In addition, being part of a band and ensemble can also enhance a student’s self-esteem and confidence as they perform in front of audiences and receive positive feedback. Ultimately, learning an instrument and performing in a band or ensemble can be a valuable and life-long skill providing students with a sense of accomplishment and joy.
Expert tuition is available in:
Woodwind: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone
Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, French Horn Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Other: Bass Guitar, Percussion and Drum Kit
Students can also study piano, guitar (acoustic or electric) and voice with independent private music teachers.
The Ensemble Program includes the Vocal Group, Guitar Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz / Stage Band, String Ensembles, Production Band, Concert Band and Woodwind Choir.
