House System

Montmorency Secondary College embraces and encourages teamwork, comradery and school spirit.   A great example of this is through the establishment of our College House system.  The house system is a traditional feature of the College which promotes a positive and inclusive culture.  It comprises four Houses, each named after our local waterways and represented by a specific colour:

Darebin Red
Diamond Blue
Plenty Green
Yarra Yellow

Each student is assigned to one of the four Houses when enrolling at the College and siblings are placed in the same Hous team.  They remain with the same House until they graduate from the College.

The House system at Montmorency Secondary College provides students with the opportunity for involvement in many co-curricula activities.  This supports student voice and agency as well as nurturing a sense of belonging, confidence and self-esteem that enhances involvement and leadership

Involvement in House-based activities, such as our annual Swimming and Athletic carnivals and House Off challenges students across all year levels to unite and work together in teams, fostering the development of role modelling and mentoring.
