Return to face-to-face learning in Term 4 Information

As more information comes to us, we will endeavour to keep you informed.


Changes remain subject to the advice of Victoria’s Chief Health Officer. The first week of Term 4 (5th – 9th October) remote and flexible learning will continue for all students, except those in specialist schools and in rural and regional Victoria.

VCE students, VCAL students and Year 10 students studying VCE or VCAL, can only attend on-site for essential assessments during this week, including the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Wednesday 7th October.

On-site supervision for children of vulnerable students and children of permitted workers will continue to be provided, consistent with existing guidelines.

For schools in metropolitan Melbourne Students in Grade 2 will return to full-time on-site schooling. The existing remote learning program will not continue for these year levels.

Students in specialist schools will continue with full-time on-site schooling. Schools can offer learning material to students who continue to learn from home.

Year 11 and 12 students will attend on-site schooling full time, and Year 10 students enrolled in a VCE or VCAL program will attend on-site for these classes. All students in Years 3 to 10 in metropolitan Melbourne will continue with remote and flexible learning until further notice. A date for the return of these year levels to on-site learning will be subject to further health advice.
